Appointments

Urgent appointments

If you have an urgent medical problem that genuinely cannot wait until the next routine appointment, we offer same/next day urgent appointments. The doctor will see you for this urgent medical problem only.

If you have any other non-urgent matters, please book an additional routine appointment with your usual doctor.

Whilst we do our best to accommodate you with the resources we have, please don’t expect our receptionists to be able to offer you a time, while perhaps is ideal for you, is a time that they simply don’t have a doctor available. If your need is genuinely urgent, we would expect that getting medical attention will be your priority rather than finding an appointment that fits around work, school or other engagements.

Please be aware that you may not see the doctor of your choice.

We do not class the following as emergencies:
– Sick notes
– On-going stable conditions
– Prescriptions
– Routine test requests/ results
– Minor ailments

To request an urgent appointment for today (Monday to Friday):

  • phone us on 01282 811911, Monday to Friday from 8.30am.
  • visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist, Monday to Friday from 8.30am

When you get in touch, we’ll ask a series of questions about your problem. Please try and give as much information as you can, and you may be asked to send pictures, if appropriate.

This will allow us to get a better understanding of your needs and help us signpost you to the correct service.

When you get in touch, we’ll ask a series of questions about your problem. Please try and give as much information as you can, and you may be asked to send pictures, if appropriate.

If you need to see a Nurse we have many appointments available Monday to Friday. We have 4 Nurses available who are specialised in different areas and monitor long term health problems.

Unfortunately, our nurses do not do dressings. Please contact the treatment room services on 01282 805834.
There are several telephone appointments available per session per clinician working on that day.

If you want to speak to a clinician of your choice and you don’t need to be seen, a telephone appointment may be suited to you.

A telephone call can often save time for both clinicians and patients but please speak to a receptionist first and let them know what you need to speak to the doctor about.

A telephone call may not suffice; you may need to be seen. We don’t want to waste yours or the clinician’s time.

Your appointment

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • by phone
  • face to face at the surgery
  • on a video call
  • by text or email

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

Home visits

If you are housebound and need an appointment, we will arrange home visit. We will phone you first to understand what you need.

A clinician will visit you if;

  • you are terminally ill
  • bed bound
  • physically incapable of coming to the surgery with assistance

To request a home visit, it’s helpful if you phone the practice as soon after 8.30am as possible

Please note a clinician may ring you first as there may not be any need for a home visit.
