Patients are generally seen at the surgery, but patients may be seen at home if the doctor considers a home visit necessary due to the patient’s medical condition.
Home visits are for housebound patients only. We will always encourage you to come into surgery as this is where we can provide the best care. Specialist equipment is here, tests can be carried out more easily and drugs issued if necessary.
The doctor will visit you if;
- you are terminally ill
- bed bound
- physically incapable of coming to the surgery with assistance
Please note that the doctor may ring you first as there may not be any need for a home visit.
A visit takes half an hour MINIMUM and for every
visit, approximately 2-4 patients can be seen at the
surgery.
If you are able to get out with assistance, please attend the surgery.
