Altitude Sickness Medication

Not Available on NHS Prescription

Please note that our practice does not prescribe medication for altitude sickness. These treatments-such as acetazolamide (Diamox)-are considered off-licence for this purpose and fall outside the scope of the NHS contract.

As such, we are not permitted to issue prescriptions for altitude sickness prevention or treatment under NHS provision.

If you require medication for altitude-related travel, we advise you to consult a private GP or an online travel health pharmacist who may be able to provide appropriate advice and prescriptions on a private basis.

Thank you for your understanding.
